MHS Team Places 1st, Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl - West Region Competition - Feb. 6

MHS Reading Bowl PosterMarietta High School’s (MHS) Reading Bowl Team earned 1st place at the Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl – West Region Competition at the University of West Georgia. This is second year MHS has competed at the event and their first victory. Marietta City schools represented at the West Region competition included Sawyer Road Elementary School, Marietta Center for Advanced Academics, Marietta Sixth Grade Academy, and Marietta Middle School. The Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl is an annual event celebrating reading and supports Marietta Reads!, our systemic focus on literacy.

MHS-Reading Bowl Team
Elizabeth Biron, Jessica Gamble, Karla Wagner, Caleb Negash, Katie Harper, Jessica Luegering, Bill Bruton, Samantha Haisty, Kalifa Martin, Efrem Egede, Fernanda Kunha, and Emily Franklin. Media Specialists Laura Gary-Michel and Kristin Saxon work with the team with tremendous support from parent Rose Haisty.
